On lag Beomer '05 A gentleman approached R' Chaim Leib in Miron at 2:00 AM and inquired about a bed for his wife. When the arrangements were made,he asked if there is a possibility to get a bed for himself as well. R' chaim leib offered him rather fill the refrigerator with water bottles so that during the day when people visit the gravesite, they should have cold water to quench their thirst. R' chaim leib blessed him at the time that in the merit of providing the refreshments he should be zoche that the many years of yearning for a child should come to an end and he should hug his own in the near future. The gentleman was at that time married for five years and he figured that it pays a try. He filled the refrigerator and thousands were refreshed. And... the miracle happened! in Log Be'omer '06 the gentleman brought along his newborn son. He stood by the Chai Rotel table the entire day and proclaimed enthusiastically to all that listened that it pays to buy the zechus of distributing water to all people because you experience wonderful yeshuos with the help of Hashem and the tzadik Rabbi Shimon.
Lag Beomer '07 a woman that lives in Bais Shemesh, in Israel came over to R' chaim leib and explained her deep sorrow that she is married for nine years and not yet blessed with children. She said, her father advised to buy the zechus of Chai Rotel and only by R' chaim leib. The woman asked R' Chaim leib to bless her because she was definite that he has the ability to help with his blessing since he is so much involved in the chai rotel segula. R' chaim leib promised her that if she will have real faith in Hashem, He will listen to his prayers and to the prayers of the holy tzadik Rabbi Shimon. The gentleman that was helped the previous year was standing nearby and he nodded enthusiastically that every word is nothing but the truth. He himself witnessed in person that the segula of buying Chai Rotel and strong, unconditional faith in Hashem and in the tzadik Rabbi Shimon, is unbelievable. The woman agreed and bought 2 chai rotels. R' chaim leib blessed her she should be zoche to give birth to twins. But, he repeated, in order the Segula should help, it neet to come with string faith. A short while before this purim, a relative of this woman called in the office of segulas rashbi and shared the wonderful news that she gave birth to twin girls.
Before Lag Be'omer of '07 a woman called in the office of segulas rashbi and said in a crying voice that she is married for six years and she wishes to be zoche to give birth. So R' chaim leib gave her the option of buying the Chai Rotel but she wanted to do something more than that, due to her desperation. R' chaim leib suggested that if she is able to be lag beomer in miron and lend a helping hand it would be wonderful for either party. '07 was the first year of water distribution for women, and R' chaim leib figured that the presence of this woman would be of great value. Up until last year, there wasn't an organization that provided any beverages for the women in either path up to the gravesite. R' chaim leib realized the importance of having the women in mind as well, and therefore rented a space across the "Halpern's Hotel" where cold water is distributed The woman agreed to this plan and did the effort to be there and help throughout the day. Buruch Hashem her work was fruitful and paid well of. Rabbi shimon had her in mind and had a yeshia for her.
Before Rosh Hashona '08, a man called in to the office of segulas rashbi that in the near future he has to be operated and the doctors stated that
there is only a 10% percent chance that he will survive. He asked that chai rotel should be distributed in his zechus. Segulas Rashbi took care of the matter and two days after the performed surgery, his son called that it was very successful and the doctors are really satisfied.
A gentleman told R' chaim leib that his newborn son was struck by a certain sickness and his bris is postponed for 3 weeks already. He wanted to buy chai rotel but R' chaim leib explained to him that maybe it is rather to sponsor the Hoshana Rabba food dsribution. The person donated a few hundred dollars and Sunday after Simchas Torah he called excitedly that the bris was preformed.... guess when? on hoshana rabba! 1:30 AM one night , a woman called our 24 hour yeshia hotline that her son was taken to the emergency room in a serious condition, and now she is
informed the horrifying news that the area around the heart is infected and he is in real danger. Segulas Rashbi right away sent a group to say tehillim at the gravesite. The next day, which happened to be Erev Rosh Chodesh, Segulas Rashbi handed out Chai Rotel for his zechus. Two days later Segulas Rashbi was informed that Buruch Hashem the infection is not in the area of the heart and it is no danger.
On Chanuka '08, someone called to the office of segulas rashbi that he wants to give chai rotel since he needs a yeshia. his Son was born three months before, at a birthweight of 1.5 pounds and of course there were problems and he couldn't be circumcised. So the last day of Chanuka when Segulas Rashbi distributed food for all gravesite visitors, the chai rotel was given as a zechus for the child that should be able to have a bris (circumcision). Two weeks later the thrilled father came over in person to R' Chaim Leib and added a sum to his previous contribution. He informed that Buuruch Hashem the bris was performed and the baby is fine.
Before Lag Be'omer of '07 a gentleman approached R' Chaim Leib and said that the previous year he brought chai rotel and was helped with a child but he wants a segula to to be more prosperous and earn more than a penny to his name. R' Chaim Leib explained to him that the segula of chai rotel is not necessarily limited to having children,so the guy bought chai rotel again and of course he was successful. In july '07 he brought a donation of $1000 dollars claiming this is only a part of his maser-this is how much he earned!
Someone came over to R' Chaim Leib and related to him that he is planning to buy a certain business and would like to do a good deed in honor of Rabbi Shimon, to ensure his future success. According to the advice of R' Chaim Leib he committed himself to a monthly donation of $200 dollars to enable part of the food distribution of Erev Rosh Chodesh. After a few months he increased his rate to $500 dollars per month, stating , that he feels the zechus of Reb Rhimon in his every undertaking.
Erev Rosh Chodesh Kislev '08 while preparing the portions in Miron, one of the volunteers in Miron received a phone call from a gentleman who identified himself as a kollel yingerman (learning student) who barely makes it for bread and water. The latter, promised someone to pay a debt of $1000 dollars on that very day and he had no idea where he can get hold of that sum. He urged the the volunteer to hand out food for his zechus. The volunteer asked for his name and his mother's name and promised to fullfill his wish. A few hours thereafter someone approached this kollel yingerman and handed him over $1000!! He couldn‚t believe his eyes and asked what this meant. He was explained, that someone entrusted him with this sum and asked him to give it to a trustworthy learning student and he is the first one he met!
In the office of Segulas Rashbi there‚s a list of several yeshiva students that were engaged due to the zechus of buying Chai Rotel. Here are some of the amazing episodes:
1) A divorced man came to R‚ Chaim Leib on Lag Be'omar and addressed his lonliness for the past few years begging him to have himin mind. R' Chaim Leib blessed this gentleman that hopefully by the time he returns home from his trip to Eretz Yisroel he will have good news to share. Before Shevuous when R‚ Chaim Leib returned, he was told that this gentleman was finally engaged!
2) In the mid of winter 2008 the office of Segulas Rasbi received a call, someone was looking for R' Chaim Leib specifically. He explained that since he got engaged in the zechus of Chai Rotel, he wants to cordially invite R' Chaim Leib personally to his wedding. In a voice filled with tears he described how frustrated his parents were when he reached his 26th birthday as a single. That‚s when he urged R‚ Chaim Leib on Lag Beomer he should bless him that in the following year his sorrow be terminated and he should finally be helped. According to the suggestion of R‚ Chaim Leib, the yeshiva boy went up to the gravesite and pledged that he will improve himself in a certain matter and work on it for the next 40 consecutive days. Of course he also bought Chai Rotel and within the 40 day period, his wish finally came
true!
3) Before Lag Beomer of 2006, R' Chaim Leib approached one of the volunteers and asked if he would lend a helping hand. The volunteer replied that since one of his family members is in desperate need of a kidney transplant, he will do it for the zechus of the patient. R' Chaim Leib promised him that he will witness himself that Rabbi Shimon has in mind everybody who helps people visiting his gravesite. He told the gentleman that hopefully within the year this relative will find the appropriate kidney. A few weeks before Pesach of the following year, R' Chaim Leib wanted to recruit this volunteer again. But he refused with the excuse that his family member is still on the waiting list and the doctors say she still has a long wait. R' Chaim Leib argued though, that the year has not yet ended and there are still a few weeks. A week thereafter the gentleman urged R' Chaim Leib to do something because his relative is so sick. R‚ Chaim Leib pushed him off, there are still a few weeks. And... Sunday, several days before Lag Beomer, while R' Chaim Leib was in Miron for Lag Beomer preparations, the man called with the astonishing news that the kidney was found, and the transplant surgery was an absolute success!
4) Midwinter 2007, R' Chaim Leib is in Eretz Yisroel preparing for the following Lag Beomer. He is discussing the arrangements that should be made and is trying to convince one more volunteer to take part in this mitzvah. But the volunteer refuses since his wife wouldn‚t agree. The reason why she would not allow him to help is because she will not be able to handle the loneliness in the nightmare hours because unfortunately their family meanwhile consists of two. R' Chaim Leib replied to the man‚s refusal with the following words: "Tell your wife she should give her consent and the tzadik Rabbi Shimon will not forget of the two of you". The woman agreed and exactly a year after she gave her consent, she gave birth!
